PENERAPAN MODEL PENGUKURAN KINERJA BALANCED SCORECARD PADA PT. CONTAINER MARITIME ACTIVITIES CABANG SURABAYA

Abstract


This research was a case study at PT. Container Maritime Activities Surabaya Branch Office with the title taken “Application of Work Measuring Model of Balanced Scorecard on PT. Container Maritime Activities Surabaya Branch Office”.
The aim of this research was to find out the company performance, especialy PT. Container Maritime Activities Branch Office if measured using Balanced Scorecard method.
In this research, used measurement variables fixed in four perspective balanced scorecard is financial, customer, business internal process, and learning and developing perspectives.
Analysis tools used to find out the company performance include financial perspective indicator used were return On Investment (ROI) and profit margin on sales. Customer perspective indicator can used were customer retention, number of new customer, on time delivery, and number of complain. Business internal process perspective used cycle time and value chains indicator, and learning and developing perspective used indicator sourced from questionare give to employee, employee turnover, and employee training.
Analysis using those four perspectives mentioned above gives: first, from financial perspective that the company’s performance was good value, this shown from measurement results of those two indicators; second, customer perspective shows that the company’s performance was good value, reflected from four indicators in 2001,2002, and 2003 it increased; third, based on business internal process consisted in the company’s performance was not good enough; fourth, learning and developing perspective shows that performance of PT. Container Maritime Activities branch office was good enough even there was one thing need to revaluated.
Based on summary above, reseacher can give suggestions that balanced scorecard is one of tools may be applied to measurement performance from only financial aspec even there was non financial aspec and to convince that goals of company have been gained. Fixed to improvemented the service excellent and good to customer and involves employee in decision making process to growth employee’s sense of belonging to the company.
