RELIGIUSITAS SISWA SMKN 2 MALANG (Kajian Tentang Internalisasi Nilai-nilai Agama)

Modernism brings the incredible effects on education. The biggest effect is
on student?s moral. In addition, school as place to stem the flow of the effects
faces a difficult challenge. Thus, school needs to have more consideration on the
moral education in formal education or non-formal education like extra-curricular
From the daily activities at SMKN 2 Malang, it can be found that the
forms of religiosity phenomenon (good moral) can be grouped into two
categories. Those are the good habitual things which usually are done but having
religious value (the basic category) and the good things which have higher level of
religiosity (the advanced category). This study tries to answer two questions. The
first question is how does the internalization of religious values happen at SMKN
2 Malang? The second question is why does there is a religiosity phenomenon on
students of SMKN 2 Malang?
The objectives of this study is describing the continuity of internalization
of religious values on students at SMKN 2 Malang and construing the student?s
religiosity phenomenon at AMKN 2 Malang. This study used descriptive
qualitative method and purposive sampling technique.
From this study, it can be found that, (1)The internalization of religious
values on students at SMKN 2 Malang happened (on description): Fistly, the
internalization had happened before students studied at SMKN 2 Malang (since
they were in elementary school and junior high school). Secondly, the
internalization of religious values happened at their home (family). Thirdly,
students?s social intercourse environment. Fourthly, internalization of religious
values which are taught in the class. Fifthly, internalization through extracurricular
activities. (2) Student?s religiosity phenomenon at SMKN 2 Malang can
be meant as folows: First, grouping students (establishing community) in positive
things means that every individuals feel that they need each other. Second,
students who were active doing abligatory praying (shalat wajib) and suggested
praying (shalat sunnah) has two meanings; as a routine which has been formed
before students came to SMKN 2 Malang and as a provision for final examination
because they thought that obedience connected to the religion becoming an
alternative to get maximum result of the examination. Third, wearing veil (a
material to cover the head except face) for female student rose from student?s self
consciousnes and from the result of what the parents had taught (when students
were still children). By using veil, it inclines to save social intercourse. It means
that wearing veil can be categorized as having higher religiosity level than not
wearing it.
